I love sharing information about great movies that I think my readers will really enjoy. There is a fun animated movie coming to theaters in April called Rio. I’ve watched a few clips from the film and it is really funny. Not only that but it has an all star cast.
According to the movie’s synopsis;
From the makers of the hit ICE AGE series comes Rio, a comedy adventure about taking a walk on the wild side.
Blu is a domesticated Macaw who never learned to fly, living a comfortable life with his owner and best friend Linda in the small town of Moose Lake, Minnesota. Blu and Linda think he’s the last of his kind, but when they learn about another Macaw who lives in Rio de Janeiro, they head to the faraway and exotic land to find Jewel, Blu’s female counterpart. Not long after they arrive, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by a group of bungling animal smugglers.
With the help of street smart Jewel, and a group of wise-cracking and smooth-talking city birds, Blu escapes. Now, with his new friends by his side, Blu will have to find the courage to learn to fly, thwart the kidnappers who are hot on their trail, and return to Linda, the best friend a bird ever had.
Rio features the voices of Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Jemaine Clement, Leslie Mann, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, will.i.am, Rodrigo Santoro, and Jamie Foxx and Jake T. Austin.
Here is a clip from the film. This clip features Blu and Jewel accidentally catching a ride on a hang glider over the beach in Rio de Janeiro. You can find other clips from the movie on the movies official YouTube page too.
I love the quality of the film. It’s very colorful, which you would expect when you doing a film about exotic birds and the beautiful landscape of Brazil. Even though the movie is an animation some images look realistic. Take for example when the birds are flying over the beach on the hang glider. The beach scene below looks almost real. It’s so cool how animators can do that.
