I have been diligently trying to be more “green”, as is my whole family. We recycle, use re-usable water bottles, eco-friendly products, turn off the lights when they are not needed. We’re doing our best not only for our environment, but also for our own health and well being.
I have always been disgusted by the heavy chemical smells from cleaning products. I still remember when my mom would clean the oven with that horrible spray. The whole place smelled. It was awful!
It’s bad enough I have a massive power line outside my condo, which crackles and makes other weird noises, and we live near a nuclear plant. I can’t do anything about that but I can take care of our environment INSIDE my home and use products that are a healthier alternative.
I am in love with the products from Seventh Generation. Not only are they better for our environment they are also better for my family so I don’t have to worry about them breathing in harsh chemicals and other harmful toxins.
Products from Seventh Generation are all non-toxic and biodegradable. They do not have harmful fumes. They are also NOT tested on animals which I really appreciate. Please don’t get me started on animal testing. Sigh…
One of my FAVORITE products from Seventh Generation is the all-purpose cleaner. I use that on just about everything. I use this on everything! Even our outdoor furniture. I LOVE the way it smells. I think that is why I use it on everything, because it smells so nice. It has an grapefruit scent. It’s not overwhelming at all but it does leave the place smelling fresh and clean.
As gross as it might sound the Emerald Cypress and Fir toilet cleaner leaves an awesome scent too. It also does a great job getting the toilet really cleaned. The bathroom smells fresh and clean and BREATHABLE unlike when I use other chemical cleaners. Our bathroom is very small and we only have a small window in there and no cross ventilation. In the past when I used regular chemical cleaners I hated to return to the bathroom until the smells went away.
They also offer a Emerald and Cypress tub and shower cleaner which worked really well on the soap scum, especially on the shower doors. There is also a Green Mandarin and Leaf shower cleaner (smells like orange) that we’d spray on the shower walls after we took a shower to help elevate the soap scum build up. I loved the fresh scent.
I had to laugh at the paper towels from Seventh Generation that were unbleached. They were a brownish color, similar to paper towels you see in public rest rooms. My kids didn’t believe me they were paper towels.
I had to laugh. My daughter was the first to use the paper towels and her comment was “Wow…they feel just like paper!” Really? That is because they ARE paper! LOL!
The Wild Orange & Spice kitchen cleaner is also has a great scent. It did a good job cleaning off my kitchen counters and the stove top. It handled grease well.
Overall I am very, very, very impressed and pleased with the products from Seventh Generation. They did what they were suppose to do and I am happy with their cleaning powers. Best of all I love that they are safe for my family to touch and breath in. No more running out of the room to escape toxic fumes. I even feel comfortable letting my kids use the products to help me clean too. In the past I wouldn’t let them anywhere near something harmful. With Seventh Generation I don’t have those worries.
