I grew up drinking tea. Even as a child I was always allowed to enjoy a hot cup of tea, although when I was little it was more milk then hot tea. My mom was from the UK, as well as my grandparents. “Tea Time” was a part of my life.
I don’t drink tea on a daily basis like I used to (I’m more of a coffee drinker), but I do enjoy a hot cup of tea at least several times per week.
My husband (a non-tea drinker) doesn’t understand how I can drink tea with the tea bag still in the cup. Sometimes it’s easier that way instead of trying to fish out the tea bag. Without fail the tea bag and the little string at the end almost always end up inside the cup. Not only that but it’s also messy to pull the tea bag out and squeeze out the extra tea.
My normal way of removing the tea bag is to scoop it with a spoon, wrap the string all the way around it, then use the little paper tab at the end to push on the tea bag to release the extra tea. I’m sure most people do it that way as well.
I saw a video for a new product called Tea Bag Buddy which I think it a fabulous idea. Check out the video.
This is one of those “why didn’t anyone think of it sooner?” kind of products. I like how the Tea Bag Buddy holds on to the string so that it doesn’t fall into the cup. Having the ability to squeeze out the excess tea without getting your fingers wet is a great too.
The Tea Bag Buddy also serves as a resting place for the used tea bag. There is nothing worst then someone putting a used tea bag on a fancy table cloth and it getting stained as a result. No one wants to see wet tea bags lying on their table either.
This would make a perfect holiday gift for the tea lover in your life, or even for yourself.
Tea Bag Buddy is sold by Primula Products and retails for $5.99. Plus they are available in different colors so you can get one to match your kitchen colors. They even offer a nice glass tea cup complete with a Tea Bag Buddy for $19.99 and a Tea Bag Buddy pitcher ($24.99) for making ice tea.

interesting idea, i usually just use my fingers to get the bag out and squeeze it but it is too hot sometimes to do it that way, and the price is right too
