I cannot tell you just how much I NEED my Christmas break from work. Work has been THE WORSE lately, so much so that my husband tells me almost every day to quit (yes, he is telling me I should quit). Trust me, I would if I knew I could easily find another job. There is a lot of ageism going on (it’s a real thing!).
I’m just tired. With everything going on, I just feel completely worn out and defeated. I keep telling my husband I need some quality “me time” before my mind “snaps” and I go into a rapid spiral downwards.
My husband tells me I also need to take better care of myself. I just let the stress and all the situations going on around me to effect my sleep, and it causes me not to eat right or even do anything for ME that provides ME with joy, happiness and fulfillment.
I think a lot of women find themselves in similar situations. Some situations might be worse than others.
I think it’s common for many women to have new year resolutions to make more time for themselves and caring about themselves better (eat well, drink more water, lose weight…). But how many of us actually follow through? I am guilty of that. I don’t make resolutions, but I do try to make better choices with the start of each new year. After a week or two, things seem to go back to normal (sadly).
Let me tell you about Breathe and Exhale. Breathe and Exhale (also known as “BE”) is a quarterly self-care subscription box that caters to the whole woman! Breathe and Exhale takes care of a woman’s mind, body, and soul.
Let me have Shana-Lee Scott, the founder of Breathe and Exhale, tell you a bit more about their service and what it provides to YOU in this brief video.
I was sent one of the boxes to review.
Inside the box I found many wonderful products just for me. My daughter could use them, but I used them all for myself. I give my whole heart and soul to my family, so it’s okay if I want to have something for ME too. Especially because my kids are in their early and mid-20’s and can care for themselves.

Inside the box I found the following items.

Inside the box I found a tee shirt with the above printed on it.
I love what the shirt has to say. I wish I could wear it to work (but I can’t), so I wear it when I am running around town doing errands, or just lounging around at home.

The above are a variety of face mask. These are in powdered form. You need to mix them with water when you are ready to use them, then apply them to your face (only one at a time). My skin certainly appreciates the TLC.

The above candle has dried flower petals in it (they didn’t effect the burning). This candle smells AMAZING! Even without burning it, just the scent of it is so beautiful.
I have reviewed a lot of candles over the years. I always comment on how I love to watch the flames dancing around. I find that very soothing.

I didn’t think I would use the eye mask, but after I tried it a few times, I’m hooked.
This mask has little, soft beads inside. As weird as it sounds, even squishing the beads back and forth (when it’s not on my face) it relaxing. It’s almost like a fidget toy (but it’s not).

I know a lot of people enjoy a hot cup of tea when they want to relax and unwind. While I do enjoy a good cup of tea, I am a coffee lover at heart. I drink coffee to relax and unwind. The caffeine doesn’t work with me anymore (I guess I built up a tolerance to caffeine), so I just drink coffee for the taste and the good feeling it gives me.
I drink a cup of coffee every night after work. That should tell you something about how stressful my job is and how coffee helps me to unwind.

The box also included the intention cards (I believe that is what they are called) featured above. Each card has a lovely saying on it to help you feel more positive about yourself, and believe in the wonderful being that you truly are, if you just focused your mind on that.
Since this is a quarterly subscription box, each box will be completely different. I see on their site that one of the boxes had coloring products in it. I LOVE to color. I find coloring relaxing (as does my husband).
The box I received is great for spending some R&R in the bathtub (light the candle, put on the face mask and eye mask), sip on a cup of coffee…
The new year is almost upon us, and you should make a resolution to make YOURSELF your #1 priority. The subscription service Breathe and Exhale can help you take care of YOU.
This would also make a great gift for that special lady in your life, best friend, mothers, sister or any lady who needs to take care of their body, mind and soul.
