Fruit infused water seems like the “it” thing right now. No matter where I go I see fruit infused water on store shelves and restaurants are even offering it on their menu. Just the other day I had a watermelon infused beverage at a restaurant. I would never think to soak some watermelon chunks in water. It was really good.
I have a special pitcher that allows me to infuse my own flavored waters. It works great. The only downside is that I am usually the only one in my family who’ll drink my concoctions (once in a while my kids will drink it depending on what fruits I use). I don’t know how long infused water will keep in the fridge so after a day or two I toss out whatever is left. It’s a shame too because I feel like I’m wasting fruit.
I suppose I could toss a few strawberries and blueberries in a glass of water and let it sit in my fridge overnight but I don’t think it would work the same way.
Now I can make my own flavor infused water anytime I want it thanks to a handy kitchen gadget called AquaZinger. It’s from a company called Zing Anything (catchy name).
AquaZinger is super easy to use. Simply add your fresh ingredients (fruits and/or veggies) into a special chamber, seal it up and give it a good twist or two. There are blades in the chamber that cut and mash the fruits and veggies, releasing some of their flavorful juices. You can give it a good shake and enjoy it right away, but it’s best if you put it in the fridge for about 20-30 minutes to let the flavor release and truly infuse into the water before enjoying it. The longer it seeps the more flavor will be released. Make sure to shake it before you drink it so that you can mix up all the flavors with the water.
It’s so easy to use!
Here are a few other great features about the AquaZinger.
- Vacuum insulated, double wall stainless steel keeps your drinks cold or hot.
- Finger hole provided for easy carrying.
- Wide mouth top allows for easy filling and ice cubes, if needed.
- Cushioned base through a soft rubber base pad to prevent slippage.
- Imported bottles with America-Made BPA/EA-free Tritan plastics from Eastman.
- Food grade safe 18/8 stainless steel (no metallic aftertaste).
- Large ingredient cup allows for maximized flavors.
- Easy to clean.
- Reusable
- Hot and cold liquid safe.
- Carbonated water friendly.
What I love about the AquaZinger is that it allows you to play around with an unlimited number of fruits and veggies to create amazing combinations. Some work great, others, not so much. I’ve used orange slices, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, watermelon, bananas, cucumbers, mint leaves and even grapefruit. You can even make a sparkling fruit (or veggie) flavored beverage with seltzer water (just note that when you shake it you’ll create bubbles – I shakes slowly and let it sit for a while so the bubbles go away then open it up carefully).
You can even use this with hot water and create flavored teas. I used regular tea with some raspberries and it worked out great. I made the tea in a large mug first (let the tea bag seep for a bit) then poured the tea into the AquaZinger and let it site for a bit. You can’t put the AquaZinger in the microwave so if you want to warm up the tea pour it back into the mug and zap it in the microwave for a few seconds.
Here is a brief video that shows you just how super easy it is to use.
If you like to create your own flavored (fruit and/or veggie infused) salad dressings and marinades you are in luck. Zing Anything has a SaladZinger too! SaladZinger works pretty much the same way as the AquaZinger with the exception that the SaladZinger is made out of glass and has a pour top spout on top (not a screw on cap like the AquaZinger). You can even add herbs and spices to the grinding section to grind and chop all the flavors together. A special mesh piece keeps everything from going back into the liquid. Only the flavors infuse with the liquids, not any bits or pieces.
Other features of the SaladZinger include;
- Cushioned base through a soft rubber base pad to prevent slippage.
- Imported bottles with America-Made BPA/EA-free Tritan plastics from Eastman.
- Food grade safe 18/8 stainless steel spout and blades.
- Drip-free spout with silicone stopper.
- Large ingredient cup allows for maximized flavor.
- Easy to clean.
- Reusable
If you need a little inspiration you can find recipes on the ZingAnything website. Their recipe for Italian dressing was spot on. It tasted just as good as if I had it freshly prepared at a fancy restaurant. I had all the ingredients in my kitchen already except the red onion chunk (that was easy enough to get from the store). Their recipe for Herb Vinaigrette was also delicious. I REALLY want to try their Pear Vinaigrette recipe but my family thinks that sounds gross (I don’t!). The great thing about the SaladZinger is that it makes just enough dressing for a few salads so you don’t have to worry about it going to waste. When I use it for salads it makes enough for all four family members to use some with a bit left over too.
For those of you who love fruit and veggie infused Vodka, Zing Anything even offers a VodkaZinger. It works the same way.
One suggestion – make sure you cut the fruits and veggies up into small chunks/pieces. If you put large pieces in it will be hard to twist. Also, hard things, like apples, might be harder to cut up in the Zing so you might want to cut those into tiny pieces.
Clean up is very easy.
Why Zing Anything? Because it’s healthier for you (all natural ingredients), it’s flavorful, economical and fun!

The Zing Anything products would make GREAT gifts! They are perfect for foodies, health conscious people, college students and more!

I would love to have one of these. I drink a lot of water and sometimes like to add some fresh fruit to it to add some flavor. I would love to try it with some fresh strawberries with my water. Thanks for the review.

Fruit infused water sounds so delicious and it is healthy! I love drinking water, but it does get boring to just drink it plain. I would love to get one of these fruit water makers and see how it tastes!

I’d like to try the salad zinger because I eat a lot of salads and like fresh dressing. I’m happy drinking plain water.

This looks like a great way to flavor your water. Anything that gets you drinking more water is great.

This a great product, my mom and I both love putting berries or cucumber in our water but it doesn’t come close to real infused water. I try very hard to stay hydrated as I take quite a few medications and I don’t like the vitamin and other waters you can buy as they have so many dyes and other ‘junk’ n them. Thanks for the review.
