Are you a cat parent? Do you gift your cat gifts for Christmas? I will admit that I do. In fact, my cats have a stocking (cat themed of course) that they all share, which I fill with new cat toys and treats every Christmas.
I would wrap presents for them, and put them under the tree, but chances are they will realize it’s something for them and end up unwrapping it… as well as all the other presents under the tree. So to avoid that, I just stick with filling their stocking with gifts.
We’re not decorated for Christmas yet, otherwise I’d include a photo of their stocking. It’s cute. It has a cute 3D cat face on it.
If you are interested in gifting some treats to your furry family member this holiday season (cats deserve gifts on Hanukah too, right?).
This holiday season, consider cat treats from Vitakraft.
Since 1837, Vitakraft has been dedicated to the well-being of all animals with a #1 priority of providing high-quality products that ensure all animals receive the perfect diet – just like in the wild. This dedication to quality is why Vitakraft is the #1 cat treat in Europe, according to Euromonitor. A trusted name in the pet world for over 180 years, Vitakraft is committed to making high-quality pet foods and treats, designed for each animal’s individual needs and preferences. Vitakraft is now represented by local sales companies in twenty countries worldwide (including the U.S.A).
Vitakraft makes several different types of treats for your four-legged family member.
The Vitakraft line of delicious, low-calorie treats includes Meaty Morsels loose treat bites, great to fill up your cat’s stocking for a fun surprise; Purrsticks individually wrapped meat sticks, long and thin for sticking out of the stocking; and individually packaged treats in handy squeeze sachets to stuff in those stockings, which include Souprise Snacks and Gourmet Jelly Snacks. Also available in individual squeeze packets are Vitakraft’s top-selling Lick ‘n’ Lap Snacks, new Lick ‘n’ Lap Meaty Gravy, and new Lick ‘n’ Lap Smooth Jelly. Expert recommended Lick ‘n’ Lap treats are designed for handfeeding, which encourages cats to associate people with yummy treats, promoting the bond between you.
I was sent some of the Vitakraft treats to try out with my five furry best buddies.
Lick ‘n’ Lap Snacks: Vitakraft’s #1 most popular cat treat – a smooth and creamy lickable treat in a single-serve packet. Squeeze out the product at your desired pace and allow your cat to lick it from the packet, or off of your finger or a plate. Two flavors: Chicken and Salmon
These type of treats (lickable) are VERY popular with the animal rescue groups in my area. They are used to help get the feral cats (or cats they are trying to capture) to come close enough to a person. The reason being is because a person can extend their arm out, with this type of treat in their fingers, so that the cat doesn’t feel they are too close to them. I think this is a fabulous idea, and kudos to whomever thought about it.
New Lick ‘n’ Lap Smooth Jelly: the newest cat-favorite addition to the line – a smooth gelatin snack with a bit thicker consistency than the Snacks. The jelly is soft for squeezing and snacking, and is savory, delicious, and ideal for cats of all ages. Two flavors: Chicken and Salmon
New Lick ‘n’ Lap Meaty Gravy: another newest addition – a gravy treat that’s thicker than the original Snacks, contains real pieces of meat for a unique texture, and is great for cats of all ages. Two flavors: Chicken and Salmon
My cats prefer the gravy over the jelly type. It might be a texture thing (they might not be accustomed to the texture of the jelly type one). The gravy one they can’t get enough of.
I have squeezed the gravy one on one of my cat’s plates because she prefers to lick it that way instead of out of the packet. Either way, they really enjoy them.
Meaty Morsels: the only cat treat of their kind on the market – a moist and tender, bite-sized treat made of 70% meat, with a high-protein chicken base formula, two meaty layers, and a tender center, which can also be used as a pill pocket. Two flavors: Chicken Recipe with Pumpkin and Chicken Recipe with Salmon.
Meaty Morsels is my “go to” treat for my cats because I can give them 1-2 small pieces whenever I want to give them a treat. They also love the sound of a bag opening, so they know that when I open the package that they are about to get a special reward.
These are the types of treats my cats are accustomed to, which is why they are the most popular with my cats.
Pictured is our blind cat, Callie. When she hears the treat bag, she comes running.
Purrsticks: breakable, meaty sticks with 70% meat that let you choose the serving size. They come individually wrapped, with easily breakable markers to allow you to make smaller, chewable bites. They are great for exercises like treat tossing and food puzzles, increasing mental stimulation for cats. Two flavors: Chicken and Chicken with Salmon.
These “stick” treats come with indentations to show you where you can break a piece off to serve your cat. They are soft enough where you can break a piece off that is smaller (which is what we do for our kitten).
These treats are also a bit crumbly. I was surprised by that. I would have thought they would be a little firmer.
As you can see, my cats love these treats too.
We have five cats. One of them is VERY picky about food, treats, you name it, so she rarely comes running. Yet she’s a health weight and has more energy than any cat I’ve ever known. Go figure.
“For the holidays, we naturally want to be closer to our family, and that includes our pets,” explains Certified Feline Training & Behavior Specialist Molly DeVoss. “A great way to strengthen, or even build, that bond between you and your cat is to use yummy treats like Vitakraft’s Lick ‘n’ Lap line because cats absolutely love them and will love you in return. I always say the best way to a cat’s heart is through their stomach!”
